Hot Topic Disney Wishlist

Hey everyone!
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a little bit obsessed with Disney.
Recently, I went on the Hot Topic website and found that they have a really great Disney section, so obviously I had a look at everything they sold and found myself wanting to buy almost everything they had to offer!
So today I thought I'd do a little wishlist featuring my favourite items.

The first item is this amazing phone case. I love looking at Disney phone cases online, and I have purchased a fair few in the past, so as soon as I spotted this one I immediately wanted it.
Trouble is, every time I try to buy it it says it's sold out, so perhaps they don't make these anymore :(
Either way, this is my current dream case.

I'm loving these two Little Mermaid necklaces. They are so subtle and yet so Disney at the same time; I particularly like the shell one.

I am forever looking for the best Disney poster. I really want one that isn't too childish, one that's quite elegant and a bit more grown up, so this one is just what I'm looking for.
I can already picture it in my room at uni...

These teapots are so cool!
At the moment I can't stop looking at homeware for my new uni flat, so when I found these teapots you can imagine my reaction.
Anything Disney must be in my flat!

Last but not least is some more homeware that needs to be in my flat- how cute are these salt & pepper shakers!
I think I would be too scared to use them as I'd probably break them, but they would make the perfect kitchen ornaments.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post.
Are there any Disney items on your wishlist? :)

Holiday Haul!

Last week I went to Madrid for a few days.
I was born there and lived there for 12 years, so it was lovely to go back and see a few friends & family.
Apart from catching up with people, I went shopping and spent a little bit of money... So I thought I'd make a blog post and show you all the things I bought!

Before going to Spain there was one thing I knew I wanted to buy: the Bioderma micellar water.
I've read so many good things about it, and lots of people seem to love it, so I was really looking forward to trying it.
When I got to El Corte Ingles, a famous Spanish department store, I found a whole Bioderma section, and I ended up buying more than just the micellar solution!
I picked up the Soothing, Purifying Cleansing Gel for redness and sensitive skin and the moisturising cream for dehydrated and sensitive skin.
All of these products sound perfect for my skin, especially the cream, so I'm really excited to try them- I will probably write a little review once I start using them.

Another skincare product I bought was the new Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Radiant Oil for body & hair.
I have wanted to try an Argan Oil product for a while, and I thought this body oil would be the best bet as it's so easy to apply.
I have used it a couple of times since I bought it and I love it, my skin feels a lot softer than usual even hours after I apply it, and it smells amazing.

I went into Sephora and found these really cool body washes.
There was a big stand with lots of these capsules and you could choose the ones you liked and put them into a little case (it kind of reminded me of pick & mix sweets).
I chose strawberry, blueberry, 'lagoon', and green tea.

I walked past a MAC stall and I obviously had to stop and have a look at their lipsticks.
I was really in the mood to buy a new shade for winter (even though it was 30 degrees in Madrid).
At first I tried on a very purply colour, but in the end I went for ..., which has more of a dark red and brown tone to it, and just suited me a lot better.

I picked up the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation at the Duty Free on my way to Madrid.
This is obviously a cult product that so many people love, and at first I thought that it wouldn't suit my skin because it's quite a thick foundation.
However, after trying a sample of it I discovered that this actually IS the best foundation ever, as it's the only one that stays on all day and covers all the dry patches on my skin- it was definitely a must buy at the airport.

I picked up the DKNY Be Delicious perfume at the Duty Free on my way back to England with my last remaining Euros.
I really wanted to buy a new perfume, and as soon as I smelt this one I had to buy it.
I've actually had this perfume a few times in the past, but I stopped buying it a couple of years ago to try out new scents, but now I'm really happy to start using it again, it has such a lovely, fruity smell.

I found this sleeping mask in H&M.
It was only 4€, so I decided to buy it because I have been after one of these for a while (the sun wakes me up every single morning and it's so annoying).
I just thought it was nice and simple, and the little ears are really cute.

My final purchase is this raincoat from Pull & Bear. I've always wanted a mac, and I particularly liked this one because the inside is so soft and warm, and I'm a ridiculously cold person so if a coat isn't warm enough then I won't buy it, even if it's really gorgeous.
I tried it on and loved how casual it looks but also how it compliments and goes with any outfit.
Also, this is the only coat/jacket I own that has a hood, so no more getting my hair wet during rainy days, yey!
Have you been on holiday recently? :)

What's in my Holiday Makeup Bag?

Hey everyone!
I'm going on holiday today, which is super super exciting!
I've had a really busy week getting the keys to my new flat and sorting all the last minute holiday stuff, but I thought I'd do a very quick blog post about what makeup I'm taking to Madrid with me.

I found this make up bag in Primark a few days ago. I usually end up carrying two or three bags full of make up and brushes whenever I go away somewhere, but this bag is so handy as I can fit everything into just one bag.
And I really loved the colour and the pattern as soon as I saw it... oh, and it was only £4!

Here is a list of the makeup I'm taking with me:
  1. YSL 'Babydoll' Mascara
  2. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in 'Light'
  3. The Body Shop Bronzing powder in 01
  4. Collection Fast Stroke eyeliner
  5. Benefit 'Stay Don't Stray' eyeshadow Primer
  6. Clinique 'Even Better' Foundation in 01- 'Alabaster'
  7. MAC Eyeshadow in 'Wedge'
  8. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Highlighter in 'Soft and Gentle'
  9. MAC Mineralize Concealer in NC15
  10. Clinique Super Primer for Redness
  11. Maybelline Eye Studio Gel liner.

I thought I'd go for a light coverage seeing as it's 36 degrees in Madrid at the moment, so any makeup I wear will probably just melt in the heat!
I also thought I'd take some eyeliner with me just in case, although I doubt it will stay on with it being so hot.
Some days I won't be wearing makeup, so I'm taking the Clinique primer with me as it hides the redness on my face quite well.

If you have any questions about the products mentioned above, please just ask! :)

London & Kate Bush

Hey everyone!
On Wednesday I went to London to see Kate Bush (!!)
I went with my girl Joe, who has just come back from America after being there for nearly three months, so spending a couple of days with him was really great (although I probably stressed the life out of him!).

London was quite hectic. We were rushing to get to places as we didn't want to be late for the show.
We did manage to go to Oxford Street for some lunch and a bit of shopping however.
We went to Chipotle, a sort of Mexican Subway, which is Joe's new American obsession. There, I had my first ever burrito, and it was pretty fab.

I love the Topshop in Oxford Street; there's so many different stalls and products to choose from (there's even a frozen yoghourt bar!)
I had to really stop myself from buying a new coat or a new hat... there are so many hats there...

So we rushed around a bit more and our last stop was Primark.
I was really excited to go to Primark as I'd heard that there's some great pieces there this season.
Maybe I didn't look well enough, but I was a tiny bit disappointed. I'd seen a few items online that I was excited to buy, but they didn't have them in stock.
On the other hand, I was quite impressed with their handbags, I picked out four different ones that I liked, but ended up buying a lovely, small black bag. I thought it looked quite different to any bag I own, and I was also in desperate need of a smaller bag.

After running around London, it was finally time to go to the concert.
I couldn't believe my luck when I got the tickets back in March; like every other Kate Bush fan out there, I never thought I'd get to see her live.
The show itself was beyond my expectations. I would have been happy with just seeing her sat at a piano singing a few songs, but she put on an incredible, ingenious show that, after four days, I'm still trying to take in.

When she came on stage for the first time, everyone stood up and didn't stop clapping for a good few minutes. I looked around a few times and everyone there looked so amazed, you could totally see a look of admiration and respect on their faces throughout the concert.

The show was split into two different theatrical productions, the first one based on The Ninth Wave, from Kate's Hounds of Love album, and the second was A Sky of Honey, from her Aerial album.
The two acts had very different, almost opposite themes, the first one being dark and gothic, whilst the second gave a happy and bright atmosphere to the theatre.

Before The Dawn (the name of the concert) was like nothing I'd seen before. Kate Bush is able to visualise her songs, and she is inspired by films- you can tell Alfred Hitchcock is one of her biggest inspirations.
In her show, Kate Bush tells a story through her music, with the help of lyrics, stage design and previously recorded short films- and the result is genious.

I'm still not over what I witnessed on Wednesday. I have been listening to Kate Bush non-stop since, and I get super emotional every time I remember that I've seen her live.
I hope she releases a dvd of the show, because I feel that when you see it for the first time you feel amazed, starstruck and shocked all at the same time, so I need to watch the show again to take it in and find a few details that I might have missed the first time.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this post!

A Little Missguided Haul

I have recently been loving Missguided. Over the summer I bought quite a few of their clothes, mainly because they've been doing some great summery pieces, most of them in pastel colours.
Today I thought I'd do a small haul featuring a few of my latest Missguided purchases (and probably my last summer buys of the year! *sob*)

The first item is this lilac/pink back shell top.
I love this top because it easily adds a pop of colour to any outfit, and it's great to pair it with other pastels.
On the website it says it's lilac, but to me it's totally pink.

Evelyn Chiffon Back Shell Top Lilac, £9.99

Next is this lilac sweatshirt.
This is such a casual piece, perfect to wear with jeans or trousers.
I've been wearing this a lot this summer, as it's so easy to just throw on but still feel like you've made an effort with your outfit.
I sometimes wish it was a bit longer so I could also wear it all year round.

Graca Cropped Scuba Sweatshirt In Lilac, £14.99

I was dying to buy a yellow item of clothing for ages, and in the end I went for this lemon crop-top.
Yellow can sometimes be a bit overpowering, but this shade is rather subtle, meaning that you can wear it during the day and not draw too much attention to yourself.
Missguided also sell a matching skirt in this colour, which I would totally buy if it wasn't for the fact summer is nearly over and I don't think I'll get much wear out of this top until next year.

Bibianka Lemon Crop Top With Curve Hem, £10.49

The last item in this mini-haul is this gorgeous blue swing dress.
I have been after this dress for so long, and last week I bought it in the sale for only £4.50!
I originally wanted it in pink, but I just couldn't resist the price of the blue one.
It's a really nice day-dress that you can wear with or without tights and its long sleeves mean I will be able to wear it a lot this autumn.

Mikita Long Sleeve Swing Dress In Baby Blue, £4.50
(This item is no longer available on the website)

I hope you've enjoyed this little haul!
Are you a fan of Missguided?

August Fashion Wishlist

Hey everyone!
Today I thought I'd do something new and write my first fashion post- my August fashion wishlist.
I love shopping and looking at clothes and accessories online, but, as every student knows, money tends to be a problem.

Luckily, that's what wishlists are for!
To put together some of your favourite items and hope that one day they will actually be yours.
This month's wishlist consists of items from Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Ted Baker.

Check Print Jersey Coat, Topshop, £75

The first item I have been loving this month is this Topshop check print jersey coat.
Although we are still in August, I am starting to accept that summer is nearly over, and that the cold and nasty weather is quickly making a comeback, so it's that time of the year where I start looking for the perfect coat.
This coat would make the perfect autumn accessory, as it's not overly heavy and its three-quarter sleeves give it a really casual look.
I can imagine wearing this coat with a white or burgundy turtle neck and a big black Holdall bag.
MARGOT Leather Boots, Topshop, £75

I have made myself a promise that this year I will definitely buy myself a pair of heeled boots, so the search for the perfect ones has begun!
I love these Topshop Margot leather boots because they would complete any outfit, no matter how smart or casual it may be.
I actually own a very similar pair, but they are literally falling to bits because I have worn them so much, and I would love to have another pair just like them because I know I would get a lot of wear out of them.

Cream Lace Insert Mesh Maxi dress, Miss Selfridge, £55

The first Miss Selfridge item in my wishlist is this gorgeous maxi dress.
Words can't describe how obsessed I am with this dress, it's so beautiful and elegant.
It's £55 and, to me, this is not that expensive at all.
For a dress this nice I would go as far as to say that it's quite a bargain... now I just need to find an excuse to buy it, and wear it.

Blue Overlay Playsuit, Miss Selfridge, £45

I saw this playsuit in Miss Selfridge a few weeks ago, and have wanted it ever since.
It's such a nice piece which you could casually wear during the day but also dress it up and wear it on a night out.
However, I do wish they did this playsuit in a pastel pink or blue colour, but then I would just be even more tempted to buy it.
Zip Detail Crosshatch Shoppe bag, Ted Baker, £169

A few days ago I realised that I do not own a black handbag, so I thought I'd have a look for a nice new black bag... and then I came across this.
I really have a thing for pink bags, and this one is so pretty.
It's a great size and it would just add a pop of colour to any outfit, so I think this may just make my Christmas list (yes, I'm already planning it!)

Are any of these items in your wishlist?

Liebster Award

Hey everyone! So yesterday I was nominated for a Liebster award, which really surprised because I've only just started my blog.
I'm really happy and excited, so thank you so much Ruth Walters for nominating me :) everyone check out her blog!

So for those of you who may not be aware of what the Liebster award is, it's basically a way for new bloggers to promote their blogs and interact with each other, making it easier for bloggers with less than 200 followers to spread the word and get their blogs noticed.

There are a few variations to the Liebster award, but I'm going to stick with the version on Ruth's blog :)

The Rules

1. Link back to the person that nominated you (and thank them!)
2. Answer all the questions that you are given.
3. Choose 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers to nominate.
4. Pick 11 questions for them to answer and let them know.

Here are my answers:

1. If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?
Well when I was little I had this strange obsession with pigs, so I guess a micro pig would be pretty cool, although right now my dream pet is a really fluffy or chubby cat, or a Golden Retriever.

2. Favourite TV show?
Frasier. Without a doubt! It's the wittiest and funniest sitcom ever, with one of the best casts in the history of sitcoms. I just love everything about it (especially Niles).

3. If you could play any instrument, what would it be?
When I was younger I used to play the piano, but I gave it up when I was 12, and now I wish I could still play it. It's such a beautiful instrument.

4. Favourite Disney film?
Hercules! I think I could quote most of the film off by heart, I've seen it so many times.
The music is so sassy and fab, and last year my boyfriend and I dressed up as Hades & Meg for Halloween (and surprisingly not many people knew who we were!)
I do have a slight obsession with Disney princesses however, so I feel like Snow White, Tangled and Frozen need to be mentioned here.

5. Are you more of a saver or spender with money?
I personally think I'm a saver, although I do like to treat myself to new stuff when I get a bit money.

6. Favourite snack?
Crisps, any type apart from cheese & onion!

7. Favourite book?
The Catcher in the Rye. I read it when I was 15 and have loved it ever since, it has inspired me a lot and I don't think it will ever stop being my favourite book.

8. Do your prefer online shopping or shopping in store?
At the moment I have to say online shopping because it's so much more relaxed and you can take as much time as you want.

9. Favourite flavour ice cream?
Mint!

10. What city do you most want to travel to?

New York. My dream is to go to Tiffany's in Fifth Avenue and visit all the locations mentioned in The Catcher in the Rye.

11. Favourite actor/actress?
My favourite actress is Audrey Hepburn, she is my idol and fashion icon and I love watching her films. However, Judy Garland and Bette Davis are also two of my favourites, their talent was incredible.
My favourite actor has to be Tom Hanks, I have loved him ever since I saw Forrest Gump when I was a child.

Here are 11 blogs that I really like :)
 I nominate

My questions are:
1. Who is your fashion icon?
2. What is the one beauty product you can't live without?
3. Who is your favourite Disney character?
4. Why did you start blogging?
5. If you could live in a different country, where would it be?
6. What is your dream job?
7. Do you have a favourite magazine? If so, what is it?
8. Favourite film?
9. Are you a fan of vintage clothing?
10. What is your favourite type of cake?
11. Do you have a favourite foundation? If so, what is it?

If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, just ask!
